Leadership and Cooperation

Cooperation in very important in the workplace and it is vital to effective leadership. The employees and the managers have to cooperate with each other to achieve the goal of the business. In order to have leadership, there has to be followers that listen and cooperate with the leader to accomplish a common goal.
The way that a manager talks to and treats their employees decides whether the employees will be cooperative and productive. People want a leader and need one, but the qualities the leader possesses need to be strong, positive and consistent.
I think that work and life in general is a lot easier if we have a good attitude and cooperate with the people we work with. Stress from a bad work environment can cause anyone to be unhappy and not want to go to work or be productive while they are there. It is better to get along and help each other.

Self Esteem

A person's self esteem has a lot to do with the person's work ethics. The way people carry them self and their attitude at work is directly related to how they feel about them self. If someone feels bad about them self, they will not smile a lot or be very sociable.
This is a perfect example that what we say really does matter to others. We could say something that makes someone feel good or we could say something that deeply hurts someone.
We should all strive to be better people in what ever ways we need to improve. I know that this is one area that I need to improve in. I am striving every day to watch my words and my tone.

CHARACTER

A person's character is very important! To me it defines who you are and what kind of person you are. Having good character means that you are honest and do what you are supposed to do. A person who steals, lies, and cheats has bad character and can be a huge risk for those around them. A person's character is non-negotiable because it is who the person is and what they believe to be right and wrong.
It is proven that the character of the people who work at an establishment affect the profit of the establishment. This is why employers look for people with good character and work ethics. The people that they hire could cost them more money and hurt the company due to doing unethical things.

Communication

Communication is very important in the workplace and every where else. If we do not communicate with each other, we will not know what is going on and there will be more mistakes.
Communication is not just talking. Communication is talking to one another so that both of you know what the other is talking about and the message that they are sending. Then you must be able to communicate with them in a productive way.

PRODUCTIVITY

To me, productivity is getting things done the right way, in a good amount of time. This takes cooperation and good teamwork. One person can't do everything on their own. Teamwork is very important for productivity and there also needs to be good communication. Productivity is very important in the workplace because it is necessary for a business to be successful. If they are not productive, the company will loose money and may not be able to stay open. In my workplace I would make several changes. I would post a list of rules for the employees to go by concerning break times and company policies. There would also be kitchen rules and guidelines and lists of side work that can be done during slow times. This would help with productivity because the rules would help to ensure that employees will come to work on time more, come to work completely dressed and ready to work, dress properly, and they will also have less time to take breaks because the side work will be listed for them to complete. I do agree that for some people work can be an outlet for self-esteem and way to recieve material rewards. I think that this all depends on what kind of job a person has and what that person's interests are. The right job can offer this for someone but others must find some way to get the material rewards and express them self.
